Bullet comments march 2023

Many of the films that are nominated for awards in this season of recognition for the films of 2021 can be described as continuing the trends set in recent years, with however some new and different angles.

Do films have the same themes all over the world? Or do they treat subjects that are particular to their own experience? Let us try to answer here, in part, those questions.

In our previous entry of June 2021, we had looked at several revealing and significant films of 2018- 2020.

In this brief entry or September 13, we would like to add only a few comments on recent films of the summer of 2021, some of which we will come back to later in the fall.

It has been a long time since The Movie Shrink’s last entry in our Bullet comments section.

We definitely have the intention of having more regular inputs in this section of our site, especially that a lot has occurred film-wise in the last few months, even with the pandemic slowing down filming, production, and releases of on-screen movies.

The Coronavirus pandemic of 2020 has had multiple effects on worldwide film production, distribution, and viewing.

The pandemic has had the short term effect of making some films more available for home viewing. It is not altogether clear yet if that will prove to be an enduring trend. The fact that this tendency was already emerging before the pandemic could indicate that it is a long term trend.

Before looking at general trends that go beyond particular films in this Bullet Comments section of The Movie Shrink site, let us say a few words about our goals in this section.
